Call Center Staff Spotlight: Daisy Avalos

 

Daisy Avalos is originally from a small town on the central coast. She came to Fresno to attend Fresno State, in which she is pursuing a Chemistry degree. Daisy is currently working at OCED as a Fresno State Connect representative. 

 

What was your first job?
My first job was at a packaging warehouse. I was fresh out of high school and was trying to save money for a new apartment. It was definitely a learning experience since it made me think twice before spending money on unnecessary things.

 

Do you have a favorite quote?
I don’t have a favorite quote but I do like to say “it is what it is.” I used to stress out about things I can not change, so saying that reminds me to let go of things I have no control of.

 

What advice would you give to recent new hires?
I would advise them not to take things personally.

 

Where is your favorite place to eat?
I am always in the mood for Dog House, sushi, or pizza.
