Staff Spotlight Rodi Hernandez

Rodimiro Hernandez, addressed by the nickname Rodi, is a senior at Fresno State and is majoring in Economics. Rodi is a first generation college student and will be the first in his family to graduate from a four year university. In addition to his academic life, his first job was as a barista at Starbucks. He is now the BlueTech Valley and San Joaquin Rural Development Center student assistant.

He enjoys helping others to achieve their goals of starting their businesses. Rodi also enjoys contributing to enriching the lives of the people that live in the Central Valley. From his experience as a barista, hes seen the market opportunity for Mexican flavored coffee. This market opportunity led him to start his own business called Cafetazo Coffee Co. He will begin selling at farmers markets around the Central Valley in 2019.

On his time off from his busy schedule, Rodi enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and drinking coffee.

 

Who inspires you?

The person that inspires me is my Mom. I implement what I’ve learned from her.

What is your dream job?

My dream job is to be a successful CEO to my own business.

What’s your favorite local meal?

My favorite local meal has to be tacos from La Elegante! You cannot go wrong with those!
