Staff Spotlight: Jessica Conrriquez

Jessica

Jessica Conrriquez was born in Chico, California, but was raised in a small town in Michoacán, Mexico. She lived in Michoacán until she was ten years old. When Jessica came to the United States, she had to relearn everything she knew; nevertheless, Jessica learned English in a year.

She graduated from Fresno State with her BA in Psychology. Jessica plans to apply for her master’s degree in the future. She joined the OCED team in October 2019, as a project assistant, with the Fresno State Connect program.

Do you have a secret talent?

I play the guitar. I learned to play about four years ago. Along with that, I began singing, although I am still learning.

What has been your most rewarding job experience yet?

The most rewarding experience at Fresno State Connect is that I can help so many people and I also hear how our help has made a difference in their lives. There is no better feeling than when people express their gratitude. This helps me want to keep giving my best every day.

Who inspires you?

My parents inspire me because they accomplished many things when they had nothing.
