January 24, 2019 - Chevron announced a $450,000 donation. Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED) is one of six programs chosen by Chevron to continue the advancements of the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs. OCED’s Parent University program was awarded $25,000!
Parent University focuses on offering school districts across the San Joaquin Valley the opportunity to engage their district parents into better understanding the importance of STEM. Through the Digital Literacy courses offered by Parent University, The goal of this program is to offer communities across the valley an opportunity to learn career-building skills that will complement their career goals.
With the generous donation from Chevron, Parent University will be kicking off their Digital Literacy courses in Mendota, CA and Taft, CA.
Fresno State Parent University will also have classes starting in, Madera, CA, San Joaquin, CA, Huron, CA, Coalinga, CA, Fowler, CA, Cutler-Orosi, CA and, Woodlake, CA. Parent University hopes to have the opportunity to reach many more communities.
