Many of our communities this time of year experience both a decline and uptick in activity. School is out for the summer but employment, particularly in our region's agricultural industry, has ramped up. While decompressing at home during the summer break sounds attractive, now is the perfect time to explore the variety of different food products our region has to offer. This month's newsletter has a common thread of food woven within it. Whether it's the manufacturing of food, the branding of it, or helping our institutions buy more of it locally, we offer you samples of our work this month that highlight the importance of food in the San Joaquin Valley. Earlier this month we also honored those father figures in our lives. June's Staff Spotlight introduces you to one of those hard-working fathers on our team as well. Until next month...
