Staff Spotlight: Cory Mayo

 

Cory is a photographer and videographer specializing in business branding, advertisement and short story narratives. He provides the OCED team with video and photo content for the various programs we run.

 

What inspires you?

I am inspired by history and vintage designs. Anything from the 1920s or the art deco time period. 

 

What's the last book you read?

The Iron Cowboy by James Lawrence. Fantastic book about grit and courage and perseverance.

 

What's the coolest project you're working on right now?

Currently shooting a music video inspired by the book The Shining. It should be really fun to capture the cabin fever vibe of this story.

 

Do you have a secret talent?

Growing up I was the vocalist for a hardcore metal band so it’s always funny when people find out I can scream the metals.

 

What was your first job?

Working at FYE a music and video store. I loved that job good times.

 

What is a goal you have for the next upcoming year?

I think it would be awesome to direct a feature film. That has been a goal of mine for a while now.
