The 7th Annual San Joaquin Valley Affordable Housing Summit, The Future Valley was an incredible success! Over 200 attendees came together in Stockton to discuss affordable housing solutions for Valley communities. The summit was hosted by the San Joaquin Valley Housing Collaborative with partners California Coalition for Rural Housing and Fresno State’s Office of Community and Economic Development.
With guidance from the day’s emcee, Frida Cardoza of OCED welcomed the various professional that came together to hear from presenters of the day. Summit attendees got to hear from the outstanding Mayor Tubbs, the collaboritive’s vice president Carol Ornelas from Visionary Home Builders and a resourceful update from our State Program Directors Roundtable. The summit also awarded the Dennis Wallace Community Leadership Award to Alice Rocha former Director of Northern California Community Loan Fund.
The event wouldn’t be possible without the speakers, facilitators, partners, planning committee, and sponsoring organizations that have supported the work from the beginning. It was a true collective effort, with over 40 different organizations and numerous individuals helping to grow the capacity and impact of housing advocates across the Valley.
