This month, OCED staff traveled to Los Angeles to participate in the California Emerging Technology Fund's (CETF) 7th Charter Learning Community Meeting. Luz Ezquivel and Daisy Ballin-Diaz presented on behalf of the Fresno State Connect, an initiative of the San Joaquin Valley Regional Broadband Consortium that is administered by OCED.
The Learning Community Meeting was hosted by the California Emerging (CETF) in conjunction with Charter Communication to discuss various outreach methods and new adoption strategies on how to get more community members in the San Joaquin Valley region to adopt to low-cost internet services. OCED joined other community-based partners of CETF from throughout the state to discuss strategies and report on current progress.
The mission of CETF is to provide statewide leadership to close the "Digital Divide" by accelerating the deployment and adoption of broadband to unserved and underserved communities and populations.
