As the Secretariat for the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley (Partnership), OCED is pleased to share that the regional public-private initiative has received a one-time allocation from the State of California in the amount of $500,000. The funding was included in Governor Brown's final state budget for Fiscal Year 2018-19. The Partnership received bi-partisan and bi-cameral support from its delegation in the State Legislature for its funding request. Funding will support OCED's continued administration of the Partnership.

The funding is meant to help the Partnership transition from its five-year partnership with the James Irvine Foundation to other sources of funding. The Partnership's Executive Committee is in the process of convening a Sustainability Subcommittee to generate a strategic, long-term funding plan.

The Partnership's next quarterly Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The meeting will take place at the UC Merced Fresno Center, 550 E. Shaw Avenue, Fresno, CA 93710. Click here to register and attend the meeting.
