Small Business University Workshop Provides Support to Small Businesses Seeking DBE Certification

On Thursday, September 26th, Fresno State Small Business University hosted a DBE Certification Workshop in Ridgecrest, CA. Under the guidance of OCED's Finance Director Shelby Gonzales, attendees received assistance applying for DBE Status with Caltrans. DBE Certification supports small businesses and can help improve the economic status of the business and employees.

This is one example of how OCED connects Fresno State to the community in a tangible way.

At this workshop, two local small businesses received assistance with completion of their DBE application to Caltrans, and one individual interested in establishing a branch of the SBDC at the local community college  was connected with local personnel who can assist them.
