Parent University Conducts Outreach at the Madera County Parent Engagement Resource Fair

 

Representatives from the Fresno State Parent University Program attended the Madera County Parent Resource fair at Desmond Middle School. At this event, Parent University educators shared information about upcoming Digital Literacy I classes that are being offered in Madera County. The representatives from Parent University registered parents and networked with community programs that offer resources to parents in Madera County. These classes are free for parents to attend, and teach parents valuable digital literacy and financial capability skills. 

Parent University Digital Literacy I classes have kicked off in Madera County this September. There are currently 3 classes in session in Madera County

  1. Virginia Lee Rose Elementary, Classes began on September 17th, and run Mondays and Wednesdays 6-9 pm for 9 weeks.
  2. James Monroe Elementary, Classes began on September 17th, and run Mondays and Wednesdays 6-9 pm for 9 weeks.
  3. George Washington Elementary, Classes began on September 16th, and run Mondays and Wednesdays 6-9 pm for 9 weeks.

Fresno State Connect Call Center also attended the event and shared information about low-cost internet services available to qualifying families.
