2020 Q3 Partnership Board Meeting Recap 

 

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the 2020 Q3 Partnership Board Meeting had to be planned accordingly.

 

On September 18th, OCED convened a virtual Board of Directors meeting for the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley (Partnership), Vito Chiesa (Stanislaus County Supervisor, District 2) began the meeting with welcoming remarks.

 

After confirming quorum, Chairman Chiesa and the board unanimously voted to approve the Consent Calendar.

 

Chairman Chiesa introduced the first speaker on item three of the agenda, Partnership Priority #7- Health. Trudy Raymundo, California Department of Public Affairs, COVID-19 Response Team Lead, External Affairs, gave a quick COVID-19 update. 

 

Chairman Chiesa introduced the fourth item of the agenda, Partnership Priority #7- Health. The panel discussion topic included the Grimm Family Education Foundation, Wellness Wednesdays. Speakers RJ Valentino, President, Grimm Family Education Foundation, and Raj Cheshire, Operations and Community Coordinator, Edible Schoolyard Kern County gave a presentation on their Wellness Wednesdays program.

 

The meeting concluded with the final panel, item five of the agenda, Partnership Priority #1 Water Supply & Quality, was introduced and moderated by Eduardo González. The panel discussion topic was Developing a Water Blueprint for the San Joaquin Valley. The speaker for this panel was Scott Hamilton, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Blueprint. 

 

After some brief comments from the Board and public, Chairman Chiesa adjourned the meeting.

The next Partnership Board meeting is scheduled for December 11th.
