Central California STEM Collaborative
Welcome to the webpage for the Central California STEM Collaborative (CCSC), a regional network of the California STEM Learning Network! Visit this page often for information about upcoming STEM-related events and opportunities in our region! In addition, please send us notices of STEM-related events for our calendar!
CCSC's mission is to promote and support PK-18 STEM literacy and STEM-capable graduates for the 21st century workforce through a strong, collaborative partnership among Central California's education, business, and nonprofit sectors.
The inaugural meeting of the CCSC was held on 30 October 2013 and was hosted by the State Center Consortium in Clovis, CA. This event brought together over 60 individuals from Fresno, Kings, Madera, Merced, and Tulare counties to network, discuss their vision for the new collaborative, and learn more about STEM-related challenges and opportunities in the Central San Joaquin Valley. The agenda for this kick-off event can be found here, and the invitation can be viewed here. Photos, a list of participants, and speaker biographies are available here.
The second meeting of the CCSC was hosted by Reedley College on 23 January 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. View the meeting announcement here, and click here for the agenda. The third meeting was held on 29 April 2014 at Fresno Pacific University. Click here for program information.
The fourth meeting of the CCSC was held on 5 March 2015 at California State University, Fresno (see the event flyer and agenda). Click here for pictures and links to information about numerous STEM education events for Summer 2015.
At the March 5 meeting, Fresno State Physics Professor Yongsheng Gao broadcast live from CERN in Switzerland where the Higgs boson was discovered. Some members of the CCSC attended the Blue Tech Valley Water Summit in Clovis earlier that day.
The fifth meeting of the CCSC was held on 5 May 2015 at the Fresno County Office of Education. To see the agenda, click here.
UPDATE: The California STEM Learning Network evolved into the California STEM Network, a project of Children Now. Likewise, the CCSC is evolving into the California STEM Network! If you would like
to be added to the new network's email list, please email Dr. Carol Fry Bohlin or Jon Dueck.
