Export Compliance Training
Fresno State uses Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program to provide foundational training in the various regulations surrounding Export Compliance.
How to Complete the Training
- Visit the CITI program website: https://about.citiprogram.org/en/homepage/
- Login or register for a new account. (Be sure to select California State University, Fresno as your institution during the registration process).
- During registration, add the Export Compliance (EC) course to your queue.
- Complete the course. CITI will provide confirmation of successful completion of the course directly to Fresno State’s Research Compliance Office.

Who is required to complete CITI Export Compliance Training?
All persons participating in export-controlled activities must complete the Export Compliance module.
Will I receive a certificate of completion?
Yes, CITI will issue a completion certificate/report once you finish the mandatory course.
Will I need to renew my certificate?
Yes. CITI Export Compliance training is valid for three years and should be renewed while projects are active.
How long does it take to complete the required course?
Most learners complete the CITI Export Compliance Training in 2-4 hours. You can stop and begin anytime. Save your work before you exit, and remember your user name and password.
