Meeting called to order at 1.00pm by A. Nambiar

  1. Agenda: MSC to approve the Agenda of December 04, 2017

  2. Minutes: MSC to approve Minutes of October 09.

  3. Communication and Announcements

    1. B Berrett - Technology Innovations and Pedagogy (TIP) conference on January 11, 2018 from 11.30 - 2.30pm at Henry Madden Library

    2. i>Clickers Workshop on December 07 at CFE from 12.00pm - 12.45pm followed by open lab. B Auernheimer mentioned that there is a CO office directive about iClickers and companies are not supposed to be contacting faculty. B Auernheimer mentioned that accessibility is an issue.

  4. Technology Services – O Leon

    1. R Guinn is the Deputy CIO. Guinn will attend one of the future AIT meetings to highlight his specific role to support research and faculty

    2. Two-step verification process - first stage is for Level 1 personnel - there are people from every part of the campus on the committee looking into this.

    3. MATLAB - A cumulative spend is close to Enterprise license. B Auernheimer is looking into the process involved. AutoCAD is also another software that is split across colleges. R Amarasinghe mentioned that having a central list of software available in various labs might be helpful.

    4. B Auernheimer is working with O Leon on a job description for Academic Technology Officer position

    5. In October, there was an opportunity to attend AR / VR workshop at CSU - San Diego.

  5. Computer Configuration - B Auernheimer

    1. There is a revised version of the computer configuration. It is a two page document from the bookstore. We probably need a website. AIT probably needs to review once a semester. The minimum specifications would need to be updated. Tom and Chip could send the configuration to AIT and then AIT could review it. AIT could create a shared box folder with the document.

  7. New Business

    1. R Amarasinghe mentioned that there is a software Alex for PreCal, Cal A, Cal B, etc. for testing - there is a capacity issue as numbers grow. Is there a possibility of using Library computers or Chromebooks? Also, there needs to be a technology personnel to help set up. CSU Long Beach was able to cut down precalculus class offerings by half. CO has agreed to pay the fees for the software. It is getting bigger. The students should do the proctored test before Dog Days. There are 5 stages of the test and they can do the first three on their own. If they finish by Dog Days, they know which classes to take. There are three categories - International, Athletes, STEM majors. D Nef to look into.
