Members Present: A. Lawson (Chair), D. Nef, Nagy Bengiamin, Paul Crosbie, Janell Morillo, D. Christensen, B. Berrett

Members Absent: Steve Adisasmito-Smith, Roksana Badruddoja (excused)

The meeting was called to order by Chair A. Lawson at 11:10 a.m. in Academic Affairs Conference Room, Library 4164.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve of minutes of 9/9/11

  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the agenda as distributed.

  3. Communications and announcements

    Block scheduling for freshman GE fl 12.

  4. GE Outcomes Assessment and APM 204

    MSC to draft email to let departments know the issue is being taken up by senate.

  5. GE Outcomes Assessment Reports Assignments

    Assessment reports will be grouped by outcome and emailed to committee members so we have two members review each report.

  6. Revision of GE Program Description

    GE Policies Document - MSC to approve

    GE Area A-E Descriptions - Committee members will add unit requirements and GE outcomes and descriptions to the following areas– send to A Lawson by Wed Oct 5th

    1. Paul Area A
    2. Janell Area B
    3. Bryan Area C
    4. Nagy Area D
    5. Andrew Area E and MI

MSC to adjourn at 12:40p.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the General Education Committee will be Oct 7, 2011, 11-1pm.
