Members Present: A. Lawson (Chair), S. Adisasmito-Smith, D. Nef,
S. Lewis, M. Miller. D. Henriques.
Members Absent: D. Christensen (excused), K. Miller (excused),
J. Charalambides (excused).
The meeting was called to order by Chair Lawson at 11:20 a.m. in
University Center, room #203.
- Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 3/14/2008.
- Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
- Communications and Announcements.
D. Nef reviewed General Education (GE) program review site visit
team and tentative schedule. - Syllabi Review Area IC.
Each committee member summarized the area IC syllabi which
they were assigned to review (with the exception of two members
which had not yet completed the review).
General impressions were that:
a. Most of the syllabi do not contain an iterative writing
requirement.
b. Many syllabi are not clear in how they conform to the sub-
areas specifications of the GE program.
c. Many syllabi are missing required elements.
MSC to adjourn 12:50 p.m.
The next scheduled meeting of the General Education Committee will be
Friday, April 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the University Center # 203.
