Members Absent: M. Darling (excused), D. Harris (excused),
J. Valdes (student).

The meeting was called to order by Chair B. Tsukimura at 9:15 a.m. in the
University Center # 203.

  1. Minutes. MSC to amend the Minutes of 4/24/2008 as follows:
    #3. APM 114 – waived second reading.
    Conference on Evaluating Faculty Performance in the
    Classroom will be attended by several members of the faculty
    at the end of June.

  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.

  3. Communications and Announcements.
    Fourth and sixth year Retention, Tenure & Promotion (RTP) and
    probationary plan letters are expected to go out next week.
    Discussion of Individual Development and Educational Assessment
    (IDEA) presentation and campus reaction and relevance to current policy

  4. Election of Chair.
    MSC to re-elect B. Tsukimura Chair for AY 08-09.

  5. Review of “Creating a Family Friendly Department: Chairs & Deans
    Toolkit”.
    Postponed.

  6. Policy and Procedures for Fingerprinting and Conducting Background
    checks.
    Postponed.

MSC to adjourn, 10:45 a.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be on September
4, 2008 @ 9:00 a.m. in the University Center # 203. An agenda will be sent out
prior to the meeting.
