Members Present: M. Darling, J. Farrar, K. Forbes, D. Harris,
J. Olson-Buchanan, P. Popma, J. Redd-Williams.

Members Absent: B. Tsukimura (Chair)(excused) J. Valdes (student).

Visitors: None.

The meeting was called to order by P. Popma, (acting Chair on behalf of
B. Tsukimura), at 9:10 a.m. in the University Center, Room #203.

  1. Minutes. MSC to amend the Minutes of 10/18/2007 to show the
    following:
    Show M. Darling as present in the “Member’s Present”
    section.
    The meeting adjourned at 10:45.
    Add “Sloan Foundation Survey reached
    41%” to Communications and Announcements.
  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
  3. Communications and Announcements.
    Policy on Faculty Consultation and Voting (APM 114) and the Collective
    Bargaining Agreement (CBA) are in conflict with regards to eligibility to
    vote in department chair elections.
    The committee welcomes student member, J. Valdes in absentia.
  4. Department of Social Work Education Governance and Consultative
    Procedures.
    MSC to forward to the Executive Committee with recommendation
    to approve with the following correction:
    Change Article III, Section 1 from “as specified in Article III, Section 3” to “as specified in Article III, Section 2.
  5. Policy on the Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness (APM 322).
    Discussion of Article VI B. Analysis of Student Rating Data.

MSC to adjourn (10:50 a.m.)

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be Thursday,
November 1, 2007 in UC #203. An agenda will be distributed prior to the
meeting. The entire committee membership may be reached at the e-mail alias
“perscom”.
