Members Present: B. Tsukimura (Chair), J. Farrar, K. Forbes,
D. Harris, J. Olson–Buchanan, P. Popma,
J. Redd–Williams.

Members Absent: M. Darling (excused), J. Valdes (student).

The meeting was called to order by Chair Tsukimura at 9:15 a.m. in the
University Center, Room #203.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 11/15/2007.
  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as amended to show:
    Switch # 4 & 5.
  3. Communications and Announcements.
    1. Meetings to review Request for Proposal (RFP) responses to hire a
      consultant to help design a student ratings form, starting today
      11/29/2007.
    2. The campus collected 60,000 tons of food in their food drive.
  4. Electronic Retention, Tenure and Promotion (RTP) Files – Discussion.
    Discussed whether or not to allow one faculty member to test an
    electronic portfolio submission as an RTP file. Decided not at this time
    for a variety of reasons.
  5. Policy on the Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness (APM 322).
    Finished discussion of APM 322. A final draft copy will be sent to the
    committee members.

MSC to adjourn (10:50 a.m.)

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be Thursday,
December 6, 2007 in UC #203. The entire committee membership may be
reached at the e–mail alias “perscom”.
