Members Present: L. Williams (Chair), S. Adisasmito-Smith, J. Crossfield, P. English, E. Lassen, S. Miller, D. Nef, K. Robles-Smith, M. Vargas (student).

The meeting was called to order by Chair L. Williams, at 2:10 p.m. in Thomas Administration #117.

  1. Minutes. Did not have minutes of previous meeting – minutes
    are now up to date.
  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
  3. Communications & Announcements.
    1. Discussion of articulation issues led by Erica Lassen of
      Admissions, records, and evaluations. CAN system will be
      discontinued summer 2009.
    2. Criminology – Forensic Behavioral Sciences: Needs clearance
      from biology for CRIM 114 – discussed the process for early
      offering of program.
  4. New Course Proposals.
    1. PHIL 139: 1st Reading – Learning outcomes – what the student
      should come away with – goals are the instructor’s wishes.
    2. DRAMA 150: MSC to waive 2nd reading –No comments/critiques.
    3. SW 100N: Tabled – Need Complete Syllabus.
  5. Consent Calendar.
    PHIL 129 - Deletion: MSC to approve.
    CSCI 152 – Units, Course Classification: MSC to approve.
    CSCI 156 – Course Classification: MSC to approve.
    CSCI 172 – Units, Course Classification: MSC to approve.
    CSCI 173 – Units, Course Classification: MSC to approve.
    PHYS 2A – Prerequisites: MSC to approve.

The next scheduled meeting of the Undergraduate Curriculum Subcommitteewill be in the Fall 2008 semester. An agenda will be distributed prior to the meeting.
