The meeting was called to order at 3:11 p.m. by Chair Botwin in the
University Center, Room #203.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 9/29/08.
  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
  3. Communications and Announcements. (Anyone wishing
    a copy of the items distributed or discussed, please contact
    the Academic Senate Office).
    Action Item
    1.  A memorandum (10/2/08) from Brian Tsukimura, Chair
      Personnel Committee, to Michael Botwin, Chair, Academic
      Senate, re: Policy on Coaches (APM 309), was received.

      Information Item
    2. Chair Botwin noted that the NCAA Certification Review
      Committee will be visiting with the off-campus NCAA
      consultant.
  4. Discontinuation of Bachelors of Vocational Education (BVE).
    MSC to approve the Discontinuation of Bachelors
    of Vocational Education (BVE) and forward
    to the Academic Senate.
  5. Proposed Health Science Department Name Change.
    MSC to approve the Department Name Change from
    Department of Health Science to the Department
    of Public Health and forward to the Academic Senate.
  6. Executive Session.
    There were no Executive Session items.
    MSC to adjourn at 4:34 p.m.

The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be announced and an
Agenda will be distributed prior to the meeting.
