Members Present: B. Tsukimura (Chair), M. Darling, J. Farrar, D. Harris,
J. Olson-Buchanan, P. Popma, H. Shen.

Members Absent: J. Redd-Williams (excused).

The meeting was called to order by Chair B. Tsukimura at 9:05 a.m. in the
University Center # 203.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 2/5/2009.
  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
  3. Communications and Announcements.
    1. J. Olson-Buchanan and P. Popma’s terms on the Personnel
      Committee expire in May of 2009.
    2. The committee received the Articles of Governance from the Lyle’s
      College of Engineering.
    3. (APM 322) Policy on the Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness will
      proceed and has the support of the Provost’s office.
    4. The Provost Search Committee has been formed.
  4. (APM 322) Policy on the Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness.
    It was decided that the Faculty Review consists of student ratings and peer
    evaluations.
  5. Policy and Procedures for Fingerprinting and Conducting Background
    Checks.
    Postponed.

MSC to adjourn at 10:55 a.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be on Thursday,
February 19, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the University Center #203.
