Members Present: B. Tsukimura (Chair), M. Darling, J. Farrar, D. Harris, J. Olson-Buchanan, J. Redd-Williams.
Members Absent: P. Popma (excused), H. Shen [excused].
The meeting was called to order by Chair B. Tsukimura at 9:08 a.m. in the University Center # 203.
- Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 2/26/2009.
- Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as amended:
Add item # 4 “Professional Development Subcommittee Appointments”
and renumber subsequent items accordingly. - Communications and Announcements.
- Post Promotion Increase (PPI) appeals committee are being formed.
- (APM 329) Policy on Faculty Merit Increase was removed from the
Academic Policy Manual (APM).
- Professional Development Subcommittee Appointments.
MSC to re-appoint the following members to the Professional
Development Subcommittee:
William Bommer – Craig School of Business (2012)
VaNee Van Vleck – Social Sciences (2012)
MSC to appoint the following new members to the Professional
Development Subcommittee:
Ulrike Muller – Science & Math (2012)
Elizabeth Payne – Arts & Humanities (2012) - (APM 322) Policy on the Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness.
After final revisions to APM 322 were completed the following motion was
made:
MSC to approve (APM 322) Policy on the Assessment of Teaching
Effectiveness and forward to the Executive Committee for review. - Lyles College of Engineering Articles of Governance.
Postponed. - Policy and Procedures for Fingerprinting and Conducting Background
Checks.
Postponed.
MSC to adjourn at 10:30 a.m.
The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be on Thursday, March
19, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the University Center #203.
