Members Present: B. Tsukimura (Chair), M. Darling, D. Harris,
J. Olson-Buchanan, P. Popma, J. Redd-Williams.

Members Absent: J. Farrar, (excused), H. Shen (excused).

The meeting was called to order by Chair B. Tsukimura at 9:20 a.m. in the
University Center # 203.

1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 10/9/08.
2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
3. Communications and Announcements.
   1. Post Promotion Increase Program — Notifications will be out to
      eligible faculty on or before October 27, 2008. Application materials
      are due November 14, 2008. Department must complete the review
      by December 19, 2008. Provost Echeverria will decide by January
      30, 2009. Eligible faculty will submit a two page summary plus
      cover sheet.
   2. Food Drive — 165,000 lbs. of food was donated to the Community
      Food Bank this fall.
   3. (APM 309) Policy on Coaches will get a second reading in the
      Executive Committee meeting on Monday, October 20, 2008.
4. (APM 322) — Policy on Teaching Effectiveness.
   Discussed.
5. Policy and Procedures for Fingerprinting and Conducting Background
   Checks.
   Postponed.

MSC to adjourn at 10:35 a.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be Thursday,
October 23, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the University Center # 203.
