Members Present: Michael Botwin, Michael Caldwell, Jacinta Amaral, William Covino, O. Harald Schweizer, Jessica Sweeten (student), Lynn Williams, President Welty.

Member Absent: Gena Gechter (excused).

Visitors: M. Darling, D. Harris, S. Hayes, P. Popma, J. Redd-Williams, H. Shen, B. Tsukimura.

The meeting was called to order at 3:02 p.m. by Chair Botwin in the Thomas Administration Building, Room #117.

1. Approval. MSC to approve the Minutes of 2/1/10.

2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda.

3. Communications and Announcements. (Anyone wishing a copy of the items distributed or discussed, may contact the Academic Senate Office).

   There were none.

4. Resolution on Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness and Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness (APM 322)-Personnel Committee - Second Reading Continued.

   The Personnel Committee presented a letter to the Executive Committee (see attached document). A lively and lengthy discussion ensued. As a result of the discussion the following motion was passed:

   MSC (3-1-1) to return the discussion to the original document, Policy on Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness (APM 322) as submitted by the Personnel Committee and to forward it to the Academic Senate by March 15, 2010, or sooner.

5. Executive Session

   MSC to move into Executive Session. (3:40 p.m. – 3:49 p.m.)

MSC to adjourn at 3:50 p.m.

The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be Monday, February 22, 2010. An Agenda will be distributed prior to the meeting.
