Minutes of the Graduate Committee

Members Present: T. Skeen (Chair), S. Brown-Welty, K. Carey, N. Mahalik S. Skelton, M. Stevens.

Member Absent: R. Yazdipour (excused).

Visitor: Misty Brazill, Division of Graduate Studies.

The meeting was called to order by Chair Skeen at 2:00 p.m. in TA #117.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 2/9/2010.

  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.

  3. Communications and Announcements.

    1. Certificate of Advanced Study Community College Faculty Preparation (CCFP) binders were received and distributed to the committee.

      Dean Carey informed the committee that this program is already on campus. The proposal is to switch from a face to face program to an online program. There was some preliminary discussion on the budget and history of the program. The program will be on the agenda for the next meeting.

    2. Interdisciplinary Masters Program was received (2/24/10) and distributed to the committee.

      The committee discussed the request for class substitutions in an Interdisciplinary Masters Program. After a brief discussion the Chair proposed that the student and her supervisor be invited to come in at the next meeting and justify the changes. This will be an agenda item at the next meeting.

MSC to adjourn at 2:35 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the Graduate Committee will be March 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in TA #117.
