Members Present: T. Skeen (Chair), K. Carey, N. Mahalik, S. Skelton, Z. Wang, R. Yazdipour.

Members Absent: S. Brown-Welty (excused).

The meeting was called to order by Chair T. Skeen at 2:05 p.m. in the Thomas Administration Building, Room #117.

1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of October 6, 2009.

2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.

3. Communications and Announcements.

   Dean K. Carey requested representatives from College of Science and Mathematics and College of Social Science to serve on the university Graduate Scholarship Award Committee. That committee meets once in a semester. These two colleges will be contacted and the representatives will be selected by the end of this week.

4. Nursing – Graduate Record Exam (GRE).

   The committee had discussion based on the new memo from the program coordinator R. Fire. Certain questions still remain regarding the removal of GRE requirement for nursing. The committee would like to invite the department chair or program coordinator to the next meeting in two weeks. Chair T. Skeen will contact them.

MSC to adjourn at 2:25 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the Graduate Committee is Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomas Administration Bldg., Room #117. No meeting on Oct. 20, 2009.
