The meeting was called to order by Chair Tsukimura at 9:05 a.m. in TA #117.

  1. Minutes.

    MSC to approve the Minutes of 2/11/2010.

  2. Agenda.

    MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.

  3. Communications and Announcements.

    1. Discussion of A. Bishop case at U. A. Huntsville.
    2. Chair Tsukimura met with Provost Covino and Michael Botwin, Chair of the Academic Senate and Michael Caldwell, Vice Chair, Academic Senate, Wednesday 2/17/10 to discuss Policy on Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness (APM 322) and the collapse of student ratings machinery on campus.

  4. Policy on Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness (APM 322) - Continued.

    The Committee had an open and frank discussion regarding Policy changes on Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness (APM 322).

  5. Sample Probationary Plan (APM 324A) – Postponed.

  6. Policy on Faculty Leaves of Absence (APM 361) – Postponed.

  7. Interim Policy and Procedures for Fingerprinting and Conducting Background Checks (APM 315) – Postponed.

MSC to adjourn at 10:30 a.m.
