Members Present: B. Tsukimura (Chair), M. Darling, D. Harris, J. Olson-Buchanan, P. Popma, J. Redd-Williams, H. Shen.

Members Absent: None.

The meeting was called to order by Chair B. Tsukimura at 9:10 a.m. in Thomas Administration #117.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 9/17/2009.

  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.

  3. Communications and Announcements.

    1. J. Redd-Williams met with other Academic Personnel officers at the Chancellor’s office.
    2. California Faculty Association (CFA) contract expires June 2010.
    3. Starting September 8, 2009 new federal regulations require using an online system, “E verify”, to verify I-9 status for employees using federal grants or contracts.
    4. Furlough certifications for Spring 2010 will be out to faculty in November.

  4. (APM 315) Policy and Procedures for Fingerprinting and Conducting Background Checks.

    Policy discussed.

MSC to adjourn at 10:50 a.m.
