The meeting was called to order by Chair B. Tsukimura at 9:15 a.m. in Thomas Administration #117.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 11/19/2009.

  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.

  3. Communications and Announcements.

    Discussion regarding the Provost’s Forum.

  4. (APM 322) – Policy on Teaching Effectiveness.

    The Personnel Committee will formally request, for the second time, that (APM 322) be sent to the Senate floor in its original form. Chair B. Tsukimura will make this request at the December 7, 2009 Academic Senate meeting.

  5. (APM 324A) Sample Probationary Plan.

    Discussed the Boyer model as outlined in Scholarship Reconsidered, Priorities of the Professoriate by Ernest L. Boyer, 1990.

  6. (APM 361) Policy on Faculty Leaves of Absence.

    Postponed.

MSC to adjourn at 11:00 a.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be in the Spring 2010 semester.
