Members Present: P. Popma (Chair), J. Olson-Buchanan, N.P. Mahalik, J. Redd-Williams.
Members Absent: None.
The meeting was called to order by Chair Popma at 9:00 a.m. in TA #117.
1. Minutes.
MSC to approve the Minutes of 9/30/10 to show
item #6. draft will be prepared of proposed changes to
APM 325 for Committee review.
2. Agenda.
MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
3. Communications and Announcements.
A. Jim Farrar will be invited to the Oct. 14 meeting. The Committee will
meet 8:30am to 10:00 am that day.
B. Per request of the Executive Committee, the memo regarding the Ad Hoc
Committee report was revised and sent back to the Executive Committee.
4. Interim Policy and Procedures for Fingerprinting and Conducting Background
Checks (APM315).
Discussed the policy, further research is needed.
5. RTP Process.
Reviewed Policy on Probationary Plans and Faculty Mentoring (APM 324) and
made some changes. Started review of Policy on Retention and Tenure (APM
325).
MSC to adjourn at 10:45 a.m.
The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be on Thursday, October
14, 2010, in Thomas #117. The entire committee membership may be reached at the
e-mail alias “perscom”.
