Members Present:        P. Popma (Chair), J. Olson-Buchanan, N.P. Mahalik.

Member Absent:           J. Redd-Williams (excused).

Visitor:                            T. Wendt

The meeting was called to order by Chair Popma at 9:00 a.m. in Thomas #117.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 10/21/10.
  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
  3. Communications and Announcements.
    1. Members introduced themselves to new member, Mamta Rawat.
    2. APM 315 (Interim Policy on Fingerprinting) was sent to the Executive Committee and will be on their agenda Nov. 8, as a Communication and Announcement.
    3. The Provost announced that vendors biding on the contract to provide student ratings instruments will be on campus to give presentations on Dec. 6, 8 and 10. Interested faculty are invited to attend.
    4. The next committee meeting is Nov. 18, 2010.
  4. RTP Process – Review Policy on Retention and Tenure (APM 325) and Policy on Promotion (APM 327).

    Reviewed and approved revisions to APM 324 (Policy on Probationary Plans and Faculty Mentoring).

    Reviewed APM 325 (Policy on Retention and Tenure) and discussed revisions.

    MSC to adjourn at 11:00 am.

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be on Thursday,
November 18, 2010, in Thomas #117. The entire committee membership may be
reached at the e-mail alias “perscom”.
