Members Present:       P. Popma (Chair), J. Olson-Buchanan, N.P. Mahalik.

Member Absent:          J. Redd-Williams (excused).

Visitor:                           T. Wendt.

The meeting was called to order by Chair Popma at 9:05 a.m. in Thomas #117.

1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 11/4/10.

2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.

3. Communications and Announcements.

A. Professional Development Subcommittee will meet in early Dec. to elect a chair and to start a review of APM 357: Policy on CETL (which has
morphed into CSALT).

B. The Personnel Committee will take J. Redd Williams out to breakfast prior to her retirement.

C. The Personnel Committee still has concerns about the housing of student ratings data in the Senate Office. T. Wendt will discuss this with M.
Caldwell at a future date.

D. There are no further meetings of the Personnel Committee for this semester.

4. RTP Process – Review Policy on Retention and Tenure (APM 325).

The Committee finished the review of the Policy on Retention and Tenure (APM 325. APS will change footnote references to the CBA if the CBA sections renumber once the new contract is finalized, as needed. T. Wendt will consult the CBA for clarification of the 5-day period.

5. Review Policy on Promotion (APM 327) – Discussion postponed.

MSC to adjourn at 11:00 am.

The next scheduled meeting of the Personnel Committee will be announced early in the Spring Semester. The entire committee membership may be reached at the effmail alias “perscom”.
