WSCUC Accreditation

Fresno State WSCUC Reaccreditation 2025

Welcome to Fresno State’s reaccreditation website. Our regional accrediting agency is the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) Senior College and University Commission, or WSCUC.  We will submit a self-study to our accreditors in spring 2025 and WSCUC representatives will visit our campus in fall 2025.  Accreditation is very important–it certifies the validity of our degrees and it is required for our students to be eligible for federal financial aid.

Fresno State was selected to participate in the Thematic Pathway for Reaccreditation process, an option only available to high-performing institutions that did well in their previous reaccreditation.  This is a streamlined process under which we can focus on a theme.  Fresno State has selected Flagship of the Central Valley as our theme for reaccreditation.  We will investigate the role of Fresno State as an institution that both uplifts the lives of residents and reshapes every facet of our region through transformative education, research, service, and leadership.

Watch this website! As we approach our reaccreditation, this will be the central place where we post information about the importance of accreditation, the process, the information and reports we have prepared for WSCUC, and how you can get involved.
