Fresno State proudly hosts the WSCUC review team
Submitted by the Office of the President
This week is an important moment for Fresno State: From Oct. 8 to 10, we will welcome the review team from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) to campus as part of our reaccreditation process.
We encourage everyone to wear your favorite Fresno State gear throughout the week to show your pride and help create a warm welcome for our WSCUC guests.
Visit the Fresno State Reaccreditation website for the latest updates, resources and forum details.
Reaccreditation is about more than meeting requirements — it’s a window of time for us to reflect on who we are, how we serve, and how we can continue to grow stronger and innovate together; we do this for the sake of our graduates, who then become leaders in our Valley and beyond. This year, we are honored to be on the Thematic Pathway for Reaccreditation, a distinction given only to high-performing universities.
Our theme, Flagship of the Central Valley, speaks to the heart of our mission. It reminds us of the transformative and essential role Fresno State plays across our region — through education, economic innovation, research, civic engagement and leadership.
The WSCUC team will host open forums with faculty, staff, students, and alumni. I hope you will join a session or share your reflections — your voice and your story are an important part of this process:
- Faculty: 1 – 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8 | Library, Peters Ellipse Gallery (second floor)
- Staff: 2:45 – 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8 | Library, Room 2206
- Students: 3:30 – 4:15 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8 | Library, Peters Ellipse Gallery (second floor)
- Alumni: 4:30 – 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8 | Library, Room 2134 (second floor) — Hybrid session
If you cannot attend in person, you are also invited to share written feedback directly with the WSCUC team at csufresno@wscuc.org. This confidential account is managed only by WSCUC staff. I hope you will join a forum or share your reflections — your voice and your story are an important part of this process.
This is our time to show what makes Fresno State truly extraordinary. Thank you for the passion, dedication, and excellence you bring to our university every single day. You are the creative force that makes Fresno State proudly stand as the Flagship of the Valley.
Go ’Dogs!

Dear Campus Community,
Fresno State is hosting a site visit by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) on October 8-10 in connection with its accreditation. Additional information on the WSCUC reaccreditation process for our campus can be found on our WSCUC accreditation website.
WSCUC understands that not everyone who may wish to participate can be invited to or attend scheduled meetings and has therefore established a confidential email account to give everyone the opportunity to communicate with the team.
To write to the WSCUC team, please address your email to the following email supplied by WSCUC: csufresno@wscuc.org
The email account is created by WSCUC and only authorized WSCUC staff and team members have access to the emails submitted. The emails are not viewed by any representative of our institution.
The email account is created for this visit only and will be closed once the interview sessions are completed. Only comments made before or during the review will be considered as part of the review process.
Institutional stakeholders are invited to provide comments on issues of academic rigor and consistency, availability of student support services, accuracy of information provided by the institution, and other matters related to the quality of the educational experience or the operational effectiveness of the institution.
Institutional reports, on-campus interviews, open sessions, and email comments become part of the information collected and reviewed by the team. If the team chooses to include information derived from confidential emails as a part of its findings in the team report, the information will be presented to keep the author’s identity confidential. Please note that team members will not respond individually to comments provided through the confidential email account. However, the input from comments, along with other forms of information, will be considered as the team undertakes its work and develops recommendations to the institution.
The team is not able to meet individually with members of the campus community, so please do not use the email account to request private appointments.
Sincerely,
Dr. Alam Hasson
Vice Provost
