These are just a few components of Fresno State's contributions to the region, exemplifying our role as the Flagship of the Central Valley. Learn more about our impact in the report listed above. 

Between 73.3% and 94.78% of graduates surveyed stated that the HIPs they participated in were helpful or very helpful for career preparation.

High Impact Practices (HIPs), such as clinical experience and internships, deepen engagement, understanding, and application of academic content while promoting personal and professional development. 
For 48 of 49 majors studied, Fresno State graduates recouped their higher education costs in less than two years post-graduation.

Studied majors included: STEM-related majors, business, teacher education, criminology, geography, communication and sociology.

76.7% of baccalaureate graduates and 80.6% of post-baccalaureate graduates were very satisfied or satisfied with their  post-graduation occupation.

 Significant majorities also found that their degrees were helpful in achieving diverse career objectives and having an impact on society.

 
The overall annual economic impact of Fresno State on the Central Valley region is $954 million, supporting 10,391 jobs and providing $391 million in labor income.

A bank would need to pay an interest rate of 8.21% on a Fresno State graduate’s savings account over a working lifetime to equal the rate of return from higher earnings made possible by a Fresno State degree.
 
 
During the past decade, Fresno State has contributed over 13 million hours of service with an economic impact of $434 million.

In academic year 2023-24, Fresno State contributed 1,439,065 hours, with 21,674 students, faculty, and staff actively engaging in the community.
