Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Awards

2026-2027 Competition Cycle to open on January 12, 2026
Chancellor García has allocated funding for the 2026–27 Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (CO-RSCA) program. In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (Article 25.6), all Fresno State faculty unit employees are eligible to apply. The RSCA program supports faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity, and applications will be submitted through InfoReady Review.
The Chancellor’s Office Transdisciplinary RSCA Awards will provide up to six awards of up to $25,000 to support transdisciplinary research, scholarship, and creative activities at Fresno State. Projects should address the evaluation rubric criteria, though proposals with exceptional merit may still be considered.

The Provost has allocated funds for the 2026-27 Provost’s Office Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities Awards (P-RSCA). In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (Article 25.6), all Fresno State faculty unit employees are eligible to apply. The competition emphasizes high-impact projects that advance faculty's scholarly, creative, and research activities, fostering innovation, community benefit, and academic excellence on campus. Applications will be managed through InfoReady Review to ensure proper documentation and tracking.
The P-RSCA Awards provide multiple award options, including:
- Impact Grants: 10-12 awards of up to $15,000 each
- Objective: Generate meaningful outcomes that accelerate innovation, drive measurable change, and lay the groundwork for future funding or scalability. Disciplinary or cross-college partnerships are strongly encouraged
- WTU/$5,000 Salary Stipend Grants: 40-50 awards offering either 3 WTUs of assigned time (academic year, full backfill
valued at $7,465, with justification) OR a $5,000 summer stipend
- Objective: Provide faculty with dedicated time for impactful research, scholarly, and creative activities
- Micro-Grants: 20 small awards of up to $2,500 each
- Objective: Supports essential supplies, student assistance, and project-related activities that lead to defined deliverables

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is an "Intent to Apply Form" required?
No. Since these are internal funding programs, no Intent to Apply form is required.
Am I required to work with a Contracts & Grants Officer on my submission?
No, for this internal competition, you are not required to work with them.
Can I submit both a CO-RSCA and a P-RSCA?
Yes, you may submit one application to each. Projects must be uniquely different.
Can I submit the same project to both CO-RSCA and P-RSCA?
No, the projects must be uniquely different.
Can I submit to multiple P-RSCA's?
No, you may only submit ONE application to P-RSCA. For example, you cannot submit
for both an Impact grant and a WTU/Stipend grant.
Where do I submit my application?
All applications will be submitted via InfoReady.
Are late applications accepted?
No late applications will be accepted so please be sure to apply early!
How are submissions routed for review?
Submissions are routed through applicant-driven routing that is embedded into the Infoready system. Faculty members must enter the correct
email addresses in their applications, and InfoReady will automatically route the
submissions.
What is applicant-driven routing?
Infoready automatically routes applications based on emails gathered within the application. If you do not provide the correct emails as prompted, the applications will not be routed correctly. Be sure to use @csufresno.edu, and be mindful of spelling errors.
Do colleges set their own review timelines?
No, the timelines are predetermined. Review schedules for each competition are available
in their respective guidelines.
How do I find my college-level committee chair's email for the PRSCA application?
Research and Sponsored Programs do not have access to this information. You must consult
with your Dean's office to see who is serving as the chair.
I am a reviewer and received a request to review an application. When I log in, I
do not see it under "reviews".
