25th ANNUAL CENTRAL CALIFORNIA RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

The Purpose of the Symposium is to share recent research with community investigators in various fields, college students, and faculty as well as to encourage research activities in the Central Valley. All fields of research will be considered for presentation to exchange further ideas among investigators and the general public. Comparative analysis, data, and results of completed research or research in advanced stages of completion must be described in the abstract.

18th ANNUAL CSU STUDENT RESEARCH COMPETITION
CSU Northridge -- April 30-May 1, 2004

The competition is held to promote excellence in undergraduate and graduate scholarly research and creative activity by recognizing outstanding student accomplishments throughout the twenty-two campuses of the California State University. Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled on any CSU campus, as well as alumni/alumnae who received their degrees in spring, summer, or fall 2003, are eligible. The research presented should be appropriate to the student's discipline and career goals.

CLAUDE LAVAL, JR. AWARD
FOR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH

Administered through the University Grants and Research Office, the Laval award was established in 1984 in honor of Mr. Claude C. Laval Jr., a long-time resident of Fresno and a productive inventor. The award has supported the development of innovative technology and related research at Fresno State. Funding is provided by a gift to the university from Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Laval III. Application deadline: Nov. 7, 2003.
