CSU Biotechnology (CSUBIOTECH) is pleased to release the Fall 2025 Research Development Grant Program Requests-for-Proposal (RFP) with a proposal deadline of Friday, August 1, 2025. The Fall 2025 RD grant program aims to provide CSU faculty with continuing resources to fill gaps in external funding for ongoing research projects or to pilot new, but as-yet unfunded, research directions for established investigators.

Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology: Research Infrastructure for Science and Engineering (NSF): CREST provides support to enhance the research capabilities of minority-serving institutions through effective integration of education and research. This program promotes the development of new knowledge, enhancements of the research productivity of individual faculty and postdoctoral scholars, and an expanded presence of research doctoral students in STEM disciplines, especially those from underrepresented groups. MSIs that are ERIs are eligible to apply.
Proposals are due by August 1, 2025.

The John Templeton Foundation supports interdisciplinary research and catalyzes conversations that inspire awe and wonder. Foundation funding areas include Individual Freedom and Free Markets; Religion, Science, and Society; Mathematical and Physical Sciences; Public Engagement; Character Virtue Development; and Life Sciences. Templeton regularly awards large-scale grants to IHEs.
There are no eligibility restrictions. Online Funding Inquiry (OFI) due by August 16, 2025.

Samuel H. Kress Foundation: Scholarly European Art Projects. The Foundation aims to support scholarly projects with the potential to enhance the appreciation and understanding of European art and architecture from antiquity to the early 19th century. Grants will be awarded in support of projects that create and disseminate specialized knowledge, including archival projects, the development and dissemination of scholarly databases, documentation projects, museum exhibitions and publications, photographic campaigns, scholarly catalogs and publications, and technical and scientific studies. LOIs are due by September 1, 2025.

College of American Pathologists Foundation: See, Test & Treat. The Foundation aims to improve people’s health by developing tomorrow’s pathology leaders by awarding grants for mobilizing pathologists to expand health equity in medically underserved communities. The foundation invites applications for the See, Test & Treat program, which provides institutions across the United States with funding to provide community access to free breast and cervical cancer screenings. Proposals are due by September 3, 2025.

Simons Foundation: Autism Research Initiative, Data Analysis. SFARI has generated a wealth of genomic and phenotypic data across several autism and related neurodevelopmental disorder cohorts and has also supported, through external grants, the generation of additional large datasets. The goal of this program is to increase the use of large, publicly available data resources by supporting investigators to allocate time and personnel toward working in and publishing from these previously collected data. Proposals are due by September 4, 2025.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Division of Preservation and Access is accepting applications for the Rediscovering Our Revolutionary Tradition program. The purpose of this program is to preserve and improve access to primary source materials that document the history of America’s founding era and of American government in federal, state, and local contexts. Supported activities include conservation treatment and rehousing, digitization and description, transcription and translation, and updating existing digital resources to ensure long-term public availability. Deadline: Sept. 4, 2025.

DOJ: Addressing Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking at HSIs, HBCUs, and TCUs. This program aims to support certain types of MSIs to strengthen their institutional response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, by supporting capacity to develop and implement strategies to prevent and address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking that meets the needs of its students, including effective response protocols and prevention programming. Proposals are due by September 9, 2025.

NEH's Public Humanities Projects (NEH) program supports projects that bring the ideas and insights of the humanities to life through in-person exhibitions and historic site interpretations. Projects must focus on one of the following areas: American Military History and Valor, The American Dream and Economic Freedom, American Exceptionalism in World Affairs, or the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The program supports projects in two categories—exhibitions and interpretive programs at historic sites—and offers two funding levels (planning and implementation). There are no eligibility restrictions. Proposals are due by September 10, 2025.

NIH has released the new NOFOs for the SuRE (PAR-25-414) and SuRE-First (PAR-25-415). The first application due date will be Sept. 29, 2025.

Humanities Research Centers on Artificial Intelligence (NEH): The purpose of this program is to support the establishment of new collaborative humanities research centers focused on gaining a clearer understanding of AI and its implications for the United States. A center is a sustained collaboration among multiple scholars focused on exploring the humanities implications of AI through two or more related scholarly activities.
There are no eligibility restrictions. Proposals are due by October 1, 2025.

INCLUDES (NSF): The vision of the INCLUDES Initiative is to catalyze the STEM enterprise to work collaboratively for inclusive change, resulting in a STEM workforce that reflects the Nation’s population. More specifically, the INCLUDES Initiative seeks to motivate and accelerate collaborative infrastructure building to sustain systemic change to broaden participation in STEM fields at scale. There are no eligibility restrictions. Proposals are due by October 28, 2025.

Centers for Chemical Innovation (NSF): This program supports research centers focused on major, long-term fundamental chemical research challenges. CCIs that address these challenges will produce transformative research, lead to innovation, and attract broad scientific and public interest. CCIs integrate research with strong broader impacts, including innovation, education, broadening participation, and informal science communication. There are no eligibility restrictions. Proposals are due by November 17, 2025.

Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (NSF): LSAMP is an alliance-based program, whereby a group of IHEs work together to diversify the nation's STEM workforce by increasing the number of STEM baccalaureate and graduate degrees awarded to persons from LSAMP populations. LSAMP populations are defined as persons from groups underrepresented in the STEM enterprise. There are no eligibility restrictions. Proposals are due in November 2025 for most tracks.

USDA/NIFA: The AFRI Foundational and Applied Science Program supports grants in six AFRI priority areas to advance knowledge in both fundamental and applied sciences important to agriculture. The six priority areas are: Plant Health and Production and Plant Products; Animal Health and Production and Animal Products; Food Safety, Nutrition, and Health; Bioenergy, Natural Resources, and Environment; Agriculture Systems and Technology; and Agriculture Economics and Rural Communities. Deadlines vary by priority area.

NSF: Hispanic-Serving Institutions -Enriching Learning, Programs, and Student Experiences Grant Opportunity. The HSI:ELPSE solicitation supports projects that are purposefully designed to meet students where they are, accounting for both their assets and the challenges they may face. Identities and experiences are not determined solely by membership in a single monolithic population of students (e.g., Hispanic, first-generation, commuter, etc.). Deadline is Feb. 11, 2026.
