Members Present: J. Kus (Chair), J. Constable, W. Fasse, A. Parham, J. Parks, P. Trueblood, T. Wielicki.

Members Absent: None.

Visitors: M. Botwin, J. Waayers.

The meeting was called to order by Chair Kus at 3:20 p.m. in the University Center, Room #203.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 9/12/07.
  2. Agenda. MSC to amend the Agenda to postpone item 5 (a meeting with Vice President C. Matson) because she is not able to attend today's meeting and renumber remaining items accordingly.
  3. Communications and Announcements.
    1. J. Kus distributed copies of the final version of a memo to M. Botwin, dated 9/26/07, regarding Community College Governance Initiative. No further changes to the memo were suggested, therefore the memo was given to M. Botwin.
    2. Copies of the “2007–08 Budget Allocations & Instructions” folder was received. Agenda item for 10/3/07.
  4. New Business.
    There was none.
  5. Academic Budget for AY 2007–08.
    There was much discussion of this matter, focusing on the delay in implementation of the revised budget model. It was agreed that J.Kus would draft a memo to the Provost regarding this matter and that the draft would be circulated among the members of the committee for their input. Members of the committee are particularly interested in determining the future course of the Implementation process and in determining if the Provost feels that future revisions to the model are needed.
  6. Committee Agenda for AY 2007–08.
    Postponed.

MSC to adjourn at 5:00 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the University Budget Committee will be Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 3:15 p.m. in the University Center, Room #203.
