Members Present: J. Kus (Chair), N. Bengiamin, J. Constable,
J. Hironaka-Juteau, E. Junn, A. Parham, J. Parks,
T. Wielicki.

Members Absent: None.

Visitors: S. Briscoe, K. Perkins (Chancellor’s Office), J. Waayers.

The meeting was called to order by Chair Kus at 3:17 p.m. in the University
Center # 203.

  1. Minutes. MSC to approve the Minutes of 11/12/2008.
  2. Agenda. MSC to approve the Agenda as distributed.
  3. Communications and Announcements.
    1. A memo from T. Skeen (chair, Graduate Committee) to J. Kus, dated
      12/2/08, regarding Certificate of Advanced Study - Psychiatric
      Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, was received. Agenda item for
      12/10/08.
  4. New Business.
    There was none.
  5. Update on AY 2008-09 Budget.
    There was a wide-ranging general discussion of the state’s budget
    problems, but there was no specific information available regarding either
    the current budget or that of next year. We await further action from the
    legislature.
  6. Update on ad hoc committee to review aspects of new budget model.
    N. Bengiamin, J. Constable, and T. Wielicki updated the committee on the
    on-going work of the ad hoc committee. It was noted that some progress is
    being made, T. Wielicki and J. Waayers are working on some possible
    models to be presented to the ad hoc committee.

MSC to adjourn at 4:22 p.m.

The next scheduled meeting of the University Budget Committee will be
Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 3:15 p.m. in the University Center # 203.
