Each year, California State University, Fresno can nominate one junior scholar and one senior scholar for an Andrew Carnegie Fellowship.
The Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program supports high-caliber scholarship in the social sciences and humanities. The Fellowship provides $200,000 over the course of two years to allow recipients to devote time to research and writing that addresses pressing issues and cultural transitions affecting the U.S. both domestically and internationally.
Up to 30 scholars, journalists, and public intellectuals are awarded the Andrew Carnegie Fellowship annually.
When the annual competition is announced, Deans will be asked to identify potential nominees from their Colleges. Potential nominees will be asked to submit a one-page statement on their proposed study if selected as a Fellow and their CV. The President will select the final two nominees.
A junior scholar earned his or her PhD ten years or less ago, and a senior scholar earned his or her PhD more than ten years ago.

The Fulbright Scholar Program is the U.S. flagship international educational exchange program. In 1945, Senator J. William Fulbright sponsored the Fulbright Act to “promote international good will through the exchange of students in the fields of education, culture, and science.”
Today, the Fulbright Scholar Program offers long-term and short-term opportunities for U.S. students, faculty, administrators, and professionals to visit foreign partner nations. The Fulbright Scholar Program also offers opportunities for students, faculty, administrators, and professionals in those foreign partner nations to visit the U.S.
