Dr. Melinda R. Roberts is a first-generation college graduate and former Pell Grant recipient whose career reflects a deep commitment to access, educational opportunity, and student success. She champions interdisciplinary collaboration as a catalyst for innovative teaching, scholarship, and community engagement. Dr. Roberts was appointed Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fresno State effective July 15, 2026. As the university's chief academic officer, she is committed to supporting faculty and staff excellence, students' academic and career success, and enhancing the university's impact throughout California's Central Valley and beyond.
