Financial Opportunities through the Division of Graduate Studies

The Wanda J. Meeks Scholarship (Currently CLOSED)

Applicants must be graduate students in good standing with a physical disability. Applicants with a learning disability will not qualify for this scholarship. Along with their application, they must upload a letter from their physician or specialist (on office letterhead, signed) confirming their status.

Graduate Equity Fellowship (Currently CLOSED)

These fellowships provide financial assistance in amounts up to $2,000 per academic year for economically disadvantaged CSU students who have had success in overcoming educational disadvantages and promotes faculty mentoring and research opportunities. Students may receive the award for two years, but must reapply each year for the award.

Chancellor's Doctoral Incentive Program (Forgivable Loan)

The 2026-27 application cycle is currently CLOSED. An announcment regarding it's relaunch is forthcoming. Contact CDIP campus coordinator Dr. Everett Vieira III for further questions. An email will be sent to all graduate students when the application period reopens. 
 

 

CDIP Eligibility Requirements

Robert & Norma Craig Graduate Scholarships (Currently CLOSED)

This scholarship recognizes the efforts and activities graduate students are putting towards research in their given field. Applicants must have been admitted to a viable graduate program, be in good academic standing, and be making satisfactory progress towards their degree. Students are only eligible to receive this award once.

Award amounts can be up to $1,000.

Graduate Student Research and Creative Activities Support Awards (Currently Closed)

The Division of Graduate Studies, in partnership with the Provost’s Office, offers competitive awards supporting ongoing graduate and doctoral research tied to the thesis, dissertation, or culminating project requirement. This spring cycle is intended to advance projects that have demonstrated progress and are entering a critical next phase.

Award amounts range from $1,000 to $3,000 and are determined through a competitive review process based on the strength of the proposal and available funds.

Proposals are evaluated based on significance and impact, methodological rigor and feasibility, dissemination plans, writing quality, and alignment with GRACAS goals and Fresno State’s mission. Access the full rubric.

GRACAS Application

California Pre-Doctoral Program for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Information regarding the 2026-27 scholarship application cycle is forthcoming.

This program is designed to increase the pool of potential faculty by supporting the doctoral aspirations of California State University students who have experienced economic and educational disadvantages. Scholars are awarded $5,000 to travel to doctoral institutions and national conferences to enhance their entrance into doctoral study. Summer internships are also available for selected scholars.  The application is completely online.  Must make an appointment with campus coordinator Dr. Everett Vieira III to begin the application. Visit the Sally Casanova Page for more information.
