Admitted Students
Congratulations on your admission to Fresno State! As required for all incoming students, you must register for and attend Dog Days Orientation before registering for courses. During this orientation you will be attending various presentations and receive academic/major advising.

Additional Information
All Fresno State students are required to have academic advising at various stages in their educational journey. All communication regarding how to clear a students hold will be sent to your Fresno State email account. The student center will show any advising, or other holds. Learn more about the holds and how to have it lifted.
Note: Advising Holds may have different requirements per college.

| Academic Probation Hold |
Undergraduate students whose GPA falls below a 2.0 will be required to have academic advising to discuss the requirements needed to maintain enrollment at Fresno State. A hold will be placed on the student center as a reminder to complete the required advising. Academic Probation Reg Hold: Juniors and Seniors contact your Major Advising Center to schedule an appointment to clear your hold. Please check your Fresno State email for an invitation to schedule an appointment. Academic Success Coaching (ASC) Probation Hold: Freshman and Sophomores students will receive email communication from Academic Success Coaching regarding requirements to clear their hold. | First Semester Transfer Hold |
All transfer students are required to have an academic advising session during their first semester in order to register for the following semester. Around the fourth week of the semester, a registration hold will be placed on the student center as a reminder to complete this advising at the students earliest opportunity. Undeclared Students: You will be sent an email to sign up for a one-on-one advising session with your Academic Counselor. Declared Major: Your College Advising Center will reach out and provide information on how to fulfill this requirement. |
| Lower Division Transfer Hold |
All Transfer students who enter the university with less than sixty units are considered "lower-division" and must have an advising session to register for the following semester. Around the fourth week of the semester, a registration hold will be placed on the student center as a reminder to complete this advising at the students earliest opportunity. Declared Major: Your College Advising Center will reach out and provide information on how to fulfill this requirement. |
| Mandatory Advising | ALL STUDENTS must visit an advisor from their College Advising Center before completing 60 units. After completing 60 units you will see a registration block indicator ("MA") and will not be able to register for classes until you visit your major advisor for roadmap advising. |
| Major/Department Advising Holds | Some majors require their students to see a faculty advisor each semester for different reasons. If you are (or were previously) in one of those majors and see the "Advising" hold, you must see an advisor from your department. |
| Major Declaration Hold | UNDECLARED students must declare a major prior to the completion of their 45th unit. After completing 45 units you will see a registration block indicator ("MD") and you will not be able to register for classes until you declare a major. You will receive email communication from your assigned undeclared advisor for assistance. |
| Second Semester Freshman Advising Hold |
All freshmen are required to have an academic advising session in spring before registering for their fall classes. | Immunization Requirement | Starting Spring 2022 all incoming students will need to submit proof of immunizations and a TB Screening Questionnaire in accordance with CSU Executive Order 803. | A hold will be placed on your student center and you will not be able to register for your second semester classes. | Violence Awareness Training | All students enrolled in courses at Fresno State are required to take Title IX online training every academic year. | Failure to complete the training by the deadline will result in a hold on your student
