Resources for Current Graduate Students

There are a variety of on-campus resources to support graduate students.

This 1,110 square foot space, created for Fresno State graduate students, is housed on the second floor of the Library (HML 2119). It includes a collaborative learning area, computer workstations, laptop tables, and private study rooms.  The Graduate Writing Studio and Graduate Statistics Studio are also housed in this space.

Consultants in the Graduate Writing Studio are available are available to work with you on class assignments or culminating research (projects, theses, dissertations).  Appointments can be conducted in person or virtually (via Zoom).  The studio also hosts writing groups and workshops.  This is a free service available to all Fresno State graduate students. The Library is dedicated to supporting Graduate Students and their faculty. Each graduate program has its own subject librarian who is available in person, online through email, ZOOM, or other chat services. Other valuable services include: 

To help you navigate the many resources available, Library offers dedicated subject librarians. Experts in the ins-and-outs of library resources for the different subject areas of academic research, subject librarians can help you with information searches, the use of databases, how to access the various materials available to Fresno State students, the use of Endnote, as well as a number of other Library services, collections, and policies.

Through Library , you may also access a number of partner libraries from which to borrow materials not directly accessible here. 

Fresno State offers different opportunities for students to grow when it comes to technology.

If you need help with Canvas, accessing Adobe Creative Cloud, learning to use an iPad, or navigating any Fresno State website, the staff at the Office of Ideas will be able to help.

If you are enrolled in a DISCOVERe Tablet Program course and need help, have questions or just want to learn more about the program, contact the DISCOVERe Hub.

Microsoft is now offering their Office 365 product to students, faculty, and staff at Fresno State. Office 365 provides students access to Microsoft software at NO COST!

Box at Fresno State is an online file-storage and sharing service for students and faculty alike. Users get 50 GB of data to store, share and access easily.  Box at Fresno State is a secure and encrypted site for file storage such as spreadsheets, PowerPoints, documents, and files.

Kennel Tech Center is located on the lower level of the Kennel Bookstore. Fresno State's Kennel Bookstore is an Apple Authorized Campus Store to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff members. They assist you in your technology purchase and support you after your purchase and have an Apple Certified Technician to assist with any issues you may have with using your device, including repairs and warranty fulfillment.

The Fresno State Technology Service Desk offers training and guides for students, faculty and staff with e-mail problems, reseting your password, accessing the internet and more. If you need help and the solution is not online, contact the Help Dest at 559.278.7000.

At any stage in the college experience, students and alumni can meet with a career counselor to clarify their career direction, ensure they are prepared to market themselves well or to develop a personalized job search approach. Employer events, an on-campus recruiting program, and on-line job listing systems can maximize an individual's access to career opportunities. 

The Career Development Center at Fresno State offers various resources for students. Available services include career counseling appointments, walk in advising hours, career assessment, resume/c.v. and cover letter critique, as well as assistance in crafting of applications to doctoral programs.

The Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) program at Fresno State endeavors to ensure a fair learning environment where students are able to succeed based academically, socially and culturally on their own efforts and initiative.

Fresno State Police Department: The FSPD is committed to providing a safe and secure living, learning and working environment for you. From patrol operations to the Ride Along program, and safety escorts, you may access their many services through the link above or by calling them at559.278.8400.

Student Health and Counseling Center: The staff at the Student Health and Counseling Center encourage the maintenance of healthy lifestyles, and provide affordable and accessible health and psychological care. Student Recreation Center: Whether you are into intramural sports, fitness classes, or racquetball, the department of Rec Sports & Fitness at Fresno State has you covered. Fresno State Programs for Children (Early Education and Care Services): Fresno State Programs for Children is a comprehensive early care and education program offering services for children between the ages of 3 months and 12 years. Composed of three separate centers, Programs for Children provide services primarily to the children of Fresno State’s student body. Eligibility requirements apply, so please contact them at 559.278.0225 for further information.

Confidential Advocacy Services: The campus advocate provides confidential support services, academic accommodations, medical, police and court accompaniment and on- and off-campus referrals to individuals impacted by sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, sexual harassment and/or stalking. The confidential advocate will not direct or discourage the student from any course of action but will provide a safe space to discuss their options and support any decision the student makes.  The campus Victim Advocate is located in the Student Health Center. Confidential advocacy services are available 24 hours a day by calling 559.278.6796 (option 2 or 3 for after hour assistance).

Dream Outreach and Success Centers: The Dream Centers are committed to empowering students through a welcoming and supportive environment. Assistance is provided to support student access and retention through to graduation. Associated Students, Inc.: Associated Students, Inc. is the student body government at Fresno State. Through ASI, students are able to:

  • participate in the governance of Fresno State,
  • foster awareness of student opinions on campus issues,
  • assist in the protection of student rights,
  • and take advantage of programs and services that meet your needs as student.

The Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning: Students gain unique personal, professional and academic benefits when involved in service to others.  The Richter Center seeks to expand the culture of service at the university, ensuring that all Fresno State students take advantage of the opportunities afforded them through service. Student Involvement: Getting involved is the key to your success at Fresno State.  Whether you join a club, become a student leader, or help plan campus events, you are developing skills that will enhance and transform your college experience. The student involvement office houses cultural organizations, social organizations, leadership teams, sport clubs and more.

Cross Cultural and Gender Center: The Fresno State Cross Cultural and Gender Center, formerly known as the Center for Women and Culture, is a great place to find a sense of belonging on the campus. This center creates a sense of respect and inclusion to all students. The Cross Cultural and Gender Center previously housed two distinct programs--The Central Valley Cultural Heritage Institute and the Women's Resource Center. The Center is now home to programs and services including, but not limited to:

Bulldog Pantry

The Bulldog Pantry is a Fresno State student run food pantry. They provide groceries to students and families in need in the areas surrounding Fresno State. Their doors are open almost every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. during the school year.
