Academic Student Employees (U11) 

For Teaching Associates and Graduate Assistants, the Monthly amount listed is a base rate for full-time (40 hours per week.)  Students are limited to 20 hours per week maximum.  To determine monthly salary, multiply the base rate listed by the FTE (full-time equivalent).  Teaching Associates are compensated 6 paychecks per semester, Graduate Assistants-AY are compensated 5 paychecks per semester.

2024-2025 Salary Increase for Faculty

7/1/2024 5% General Salary Increase - Technical Letter HR/Salary 2024-17 (dtd 7/31/2024, retroactive)

Fall 2024 2.65% Service Salary Increase - Technical Letter HR/SA 2023-11. 

New salary should display on MyFresnoState by 8/19/2024 and in paycheck by 9/30/2025.
Faculty Promoted Fall 2024 will receive the SSI prior to Promotion.

2023-2024 Salary increase for Faculty

Fall 2023 2.65% Service Salary Increase - Technical Letter HR/SA 2023-07. 

  • New salary should display on MyFresnoState by 8/17/2023 and in paycheck by 9/30/2024.
  • Faculty Promoted Fall 2023 will receive the SSI prior to Promotion.

7/1/2023 5% General Salary Increase - Technical Letter HR/Salary 2024-09 (dtd 3/30/2024, retroactive)

2022-2023 Salary increase for Faculty

7/1/2022  3% General Salary Increase -  Technical Letter HR/Salary 2022-20

  • Eligibility Summary:  Must have been active during AY2021-2022 and active on Payroll 7/1/2022. If faculty was on Leave or not active 7/1/2022, GSI will post at time of reappointment or return.
  • Faculty not eligible for GSI FY2022-2023Those reappointed into a new classification or salary range are not eligible
  • Faculty appointed on or after 7/2/22 (Note: the new salary schedule applies)
  • 3% GSI will process on or about 9/5/2022.  
  • Retroactive payments will begin issuing 9/8/2022 and continue until complete.
  • NOTE:  Summer 2022 1/30th is based on Spring 2022 salary.

Fall 2022 2.65% Post-Promotion Increase - Technical Letter HR/Salary 2022-20 Eligibility Summary: Full Professor, Lecturer D, Full Librarian, SSP/AR III or equivalent coach prior to Fall 2022 AND have exhausted SSI eligibility in current rank (at SSI Max or Max). Note:  The 3% GSI will not impact SSI eligibility.  Eligible Faculty on leave or not on pay status will be processed on return.

2021-2022 Salary increase for Faculty

7/01/2021 4% General Salary Increase - Technical Letter HR/SA 2022-02

  • Eligibility:  Must have been active during AY2020-2021
  • New salary should display on MyFresnoState by 4/15/2022 and in paycheck 5/1/2022.
  • Faculty Promoted Fall 2021 will receive the GSI and if eligible the SSI prior to Promotion.

Fall 2021 2.65% Service Salary Increase - Technical Letter HR/SA 2022-02Payroll will process after GSI is processed.

  • New salary should display on MyFresnoState by 4/15/2022 and in paycheck by 6/1/2022.  
  • Faculty Promoted Fall 2021 will receive the GSI and if eligible the SSI prior to Promotion.

Fiscal Year 2021/2022 One-time Payment to Facultyhttps://csyou.calstate.edu/Policies/HRPolicies/TL-SA2022-08.pdf

  • A one-time payment of $3,500 to faculty who worked an average of 1.0 time base during fall 2020 and spring 2021 semester and who is in active pay status (or on leave) as of the date of ratification of this agreement (February 3, 2022) for the additional time and effort required to make significant changes to the delivery of instruction due to the coronavirus.
