Conducting Faculty Searches
2023-2024 Steps to open a Tenure Track Search
- Approved Search - approved by the Provost and your Dean.
- Elect a committee in the Department.
- Visit Faculty Affair's Zoom office hours to schedule training and to be assigned an EEOD.
- Complete training
- During training, select a communication representative (PageUp processes) to manage the applicant's communications. - Create a recruitment plan including an estimated timeline for review, telephone interviews, and in-person interviews.
- After the consultation, submit your final draft word document to camoore@csufresno.edu to initiate recruitment for online approvals.
- Search is opened and posted on standard sites - Higher Ed Jobs, Inside Higher Ed,
Chronicle online, and various diversity postings.
- A confirmation email from JobElephant will be sent as well as suggestions for additional postings. You may request additional postings through JobElephant at this time.

Process and Guidelines
Creating and Posting the Vacancy Announcement
1. Create a recruitment plan including an estimated timeline for review, telephone interviews, and in-person interviews.
2. Have department chair and dean review.
After the consultation, submit your final draft word document to camoore@csufresno.edu
to initiate recruitment for online approvals.

3. The request will go through Search Chair, Department Chair, Dean, and Faculty Affairs.
4. Afrer final approval, Faculty Affairs will post to PageUp.
Guidelines for Moving and Relocation Expense Payments
The campus will follow the guidelines according to CSU Internal Procedures Governing Moving and Relocation Expenses
Our Campus issues a lump sum payment to Employees to cover reasonable estimated moving and relocation expenses without the requirement of providing substantiating documentation. Payment for reasonable estimated moving and relocation expenses may only occur after a new appointee is considered a current CSU employee who has accepted a position at California State University, Fresno by Human Resources or the Office of Faculty Affairs, has completed the required new hire documentation and has started the position.
Issuing payment to eligible Employees is for reasonable estimated moving and relocation
expenses. Please see D through F of CSU Internal Procedures Governing Moving and Relocation Expenses for additional information.
