SCHOLARS IN SERVICE – JOB DESCRIPTION
Teens That Care Fresno County
Teens That Care is a local nonprofit organization made up of 140+ high school students from across Fresno County, united by a shared mission to serve their community. Founded in 2018, the organization has grown to become the most recognized youth volunteer organization in Fresno, earning numerous awards and consistent recognition from local media. Through hands-on volunteering in underserved areas and meaningful partnerships with a wide range of community organizations, Teens That Care cultivates compassion, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world in every one of its members. The organization runs annually from June 1st through May 31st, with students applying for membership and being held to exceptionally high standards throughout the year.
What truly sets Teens That Care apart is its commitment to developing the whole person. Members gain real-world leadership, job, and life skills that simply cannot be taught in a classroom — building confidence and preparing them to remain engaged, service-minded adults long after high school. While the organization emphasizes that it is not simply a college resume builder, its members naturally become well-rounded, highly sought-after candidates for college admissions as a result of their growth and dedication. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, every dollar donated, granted, or sponsored goes directly to its programs and the people they serve — making every contribution a direct investment in the future of Fresno’s youth and community.
